Join Rosemary Potter of Transit NOW in a celebration of recent KRM project developments, and a look into an urban future that includes KRM commuter rail. Hear perspectives from a neighborhood small business owner and a local social justice advocate. Learn about the next steps of KRM commuter rail project, and how you can stay in the loop.

Hear Milwaukee's premier poet of Ecological Vision, Jeff Poniewaz, legendary storyteller Harvey Taylor, and 2003 Milwaukee Poet Laureate Antler. Enjoy the photography display and fun activities for kids and adults of all ages. Tell us about your favorite train experience - in a work of art or in a video recording - seniors this is right up your alley! Add your comments to the "Urban Wisdom Wall".
Enjoy the beautiful Urban Ecology Center gardens (bring a picnic lunch if you like) and observation tower, and take part in an animal feeding. Take a tour and learn the amazing stories of the UEC's green construction.
Beverages and snacks will be provided.

Use alternative transit! Take MCTS bus line 15, or ride your bike on the Oak Leaf Bike Trail right to the door of the UEC. www.countyparks.com/trails/oaklftrail.html

KRM commuter rail is a potential 33-mile line that will run on upgraded existing rail right-of-way, and connect with the Chicago Metra commuter rail service that currently ends in Kenosha. The service will connect Milwaukee and Chicago with planned stops in Milwaukee, Cudahy-St. Francis, South Milwaukee Oak Creek, Caledonia, Racine, Somers, and Kenosha - and 24 stops in Illinois.

This event is sponsored by Transit NOW, a regional 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that facilitates positive transportation solutions that link people with jobs, and energize sustainable economic development.
